An invocation of species that are already extinct and a reminder that human life on the planet is just as vulnerable. Set designer Lea Burkhalter creates a space in which the audience and performers can gather together and celebrate the destruction wrought by humans in the form of a ritual.
An exercise in extinction, a requiem for the extinct, a powerful manifesto full of anger and tenderness. This evening will be quiet and roaringly loud, gentle and angry. Why have we humans decided to destroy the world, and what do those who are long gone have to say about it?
Choreographer / Dancer Vasna Aguilar and director Henri Hüster work with the Klabauter Theater ensemble on forms of movement between humans, animals, and nature. Florian Polzin drives this joint ritual with his drumming.
With “alle tiere rufen: dieser titel rettet die Welt auch nicht mehr” (all animals cry out: this title won’t save the world either), we deliberately cross boundaries and mix genres. It becomes musical, dramatic, and poetic. Narrators step out of the chorus, creating tension between the individual and society. The spirits of extinct animals settle scores with us and demand that we finally make a change.
How close must nature come to the human body for humans to feel that they are only a part of it?
