Four young people energetically explore the question: How do we want to live? Based on Klaus Heinrich’s essay “Essay on the Difficulty of Saying No,” they playfully examine various resistance movements and their ways of saying no to society—from ancient times to the present. But every attempt to say no is accompanied by a violence that makes the body tremble. What begins with rebellious euphoria ends in immobility and exhausted silence. Only in the silence does a quiet voice speak of a new beginning…
VERSUCH ÜBER DIE SCHWIERIGKEIT NEIN ZU SAGEN is a play about the (im)possibility of resistance and utopia in a time dominated by fear and tension. It combines theater with dance and drama with philosophy.
